Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Shannon graduated magna cumme laude from the Mason Gross School of the Arts with a BFA in dance. She has performed work by Stephen Petronio, Mark Morris, David Parsons, Paul Taylor, Sam Pott, Oliver and Teri Steele, Randy James, Julia Ritter, Paulette Sears, and John Evans. Her choreography has been presented at ACDFA in the Gala Concert and she recieved the Marjory Turner Award for Choreography. A videographer, her film, White Flash Black Rain, was presented in the Wayne Sables International Film Festival 2009. She currently holds an internship with Bridgman and Packer Dance, works at Dance New Amsterdam, and is thrilled to be working with Laura Hames and discovering BodyTalk and Franklin Method.
